Emergency response teams received over five hundred calls for help across the region, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

Damp conditions were predicted to continue along significant areas of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the most rainy day, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across different parts of both areas.

Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the current weather patterns.
